Seriously, I’m not sure what’s going on. But, as a I look around, it seems to me that a lot of people are truly starting to lose it! As Lauren Hill once said, “It’s funny how money change a situation…” Because it seems to me as the money continues to evaporate so does the human beings’ ability to navigate sanity.
In my personal life, I’m seeing some people wrestling with their inner demons long ignored. And, the thing that can always be counted on in a situation like that is they try an suck you in! And, I’m far beyond being suseptable to other people’s drama. I want no part of people fighting themselves. I don’t want to bear witness, responsibility, or make an appearance. And, I’m not shy about my stance either. If your crazy comes knocking at my door, I will make it clear it’s not welcome.
One person claimed I treated them badly because I shut them down before they even had a chance to cause drama. Um no. I don’t care who you are, if you bring bullshit to me, I’m shutting you down! If you don’t want me to call you out, I suggest you take your dog and pony show elsewhere. I’m not interested. Now, I could say the reason is because I have problems of my own. But, that’s not the case. It’s precisely because I don’t have problems that I don’t want to take on anyone else’s! People who stir up chaos rarely solve problems as much as they collect them. And, the more miserable they are, the more they try an latch onto someone else to keep them afloat. Yeah, I’m not that person.
On a greater scale, we’ve had terrorism in Mumbai this week. And, black friday deaths! See, it’s the consumerism turned into barbarism that really has me disgusted with humanity right now. That temporary worker at Walmart who was trampled to death, didn’t even warrant enough respect from the customers (his murders), for them to stop shopping so the investigation could begin! WTF?!!!
I think the madness of Black Friday really does represent the lowest vibration of energy of humanity. The adverstising and marketing of the retail industry has been an all-out assault on the senses. And, people are behaving like wild animals! Over what? Food??? Shelter??? Clear and present danger??? NOOOO!!!! A sale! A freaking sale! There was no threat, there was nothing to legitimize the breaking down of a door, and the trampling to death of a man trying to make a living! What is wrong with people?!
People are so scared these days that they are acting out in numerous ways. It’s funny when there’s less money, prestige and fluff to mask our issues–the issues are all we have left. And, I’m sorry, but, I say…good! Overindulging, medicating and flat out denying character flaws isn’t healthy for us as indivduals, or as a global community. It’s time for all of us to grow up. And, I swear a lot of people are truly acting like children having temper tantrums. Trying like hell to bring back the haze of yesterday, when denial ruled and everyone did it together.
I think it’s more than the economic structure of Capitalism that’s broken down, it’s the sociological effects that is the real mess that has to be cleaned up. Those adverstisers can scream “Buy now!” But, we have to learn to say, “Bye, bye!” Consumer debt can no longer keep this country a float. The well was dry at least a decade ago, but, we didn’t know because our glasses weren’t yet empty. The government bailout, or rescue plan , or whatever…helped banks, but, the banks aren’t helping people. Which is ironic given that the money is from the people in the first place! If the government hadn’t been so high on the gas financial executives were exhaling from their butts, they would’ve known that the tax payers were going to get screwed! Since when did real Capitalist  put the consumer first??? Oh, since…NEVER!
As Marvin Gaye said, “It makes me wanna holler!” But, I won’t as the astomsphere is pretty full with the screams of the masses already. But, my question is, after people are done being hysterical, after they have cried themselves empty, after they are numb on the floor like a child after a severe temper tantrum…What will they do?! Though I believe the President-Elect is going to make every effort to turn things around, there’s no way this man can do it alone. It will take all of us to turn things around. It will take a re-evaluation of the very fabric of the ideals of the United States of America, and how we conduct both business and our everyday lives. It very well may be the biggest lesson since our country’s inception. I don’t know. But, I do know that the time for hysterics is coming to a close, and the time for heroics is now.
