Well… I don’t know about anyone else, but, I’d rather break up with a guy than a friend, any day of the week.
Saying goodbye to friendships are hard, especially when you’ve invested so much of yourself in that realationship. I won’t go into details, I’ll just say, when you cannot agree on something and it impedes growth either individually, or in the relationship…it’s time to let it go. People grow apart, they decide who they are and who they are to become. And, sometimes that doesn’t work for you.
I have one friend who’s own identity is so caught up in his friends, that the idea of losing one of them is more than he can bare. I don’t know but, it sounds a little co-dependent to me. He’d probably agree. But, he’s says he’s feeling a distance growing between himself and the others. I call it maturity, but…I digress…
I believe that friendships, like relationships have to be freed, and if they don’t come back…you continue your journey anyway. There’s such a fear of being alone in the world. The truth is…we’re rarely alone, but, if we are, shouldn’t we be our favorite person to hang out with?
